After the 2012 election, Wayne was recruited to join the Office of Congressman Mark Meadows as a senior staffer. During Wayne’s tenure with Congressman Meadows, he served as Deputy Chief of Staff and Senior Political Advisor from 2013-2019. Wayne simultaneously served as Senior Advisor for Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. from September 2019-December 2019. Wayne currently serves as Political Advisor to House Ways & Means Committee Member, Congressman Greg Murphy M.D. (R-NC). 

In 2020, Wayne founded, Old North Strategies, a government and public affairs company where he represents government and public affairs clients at the federal, state & local level. Wayne also serves as Senior Advisor with the Peter Damon Group, a prominent bipartisan government affairs firm located in Washington, DC. Wayne regularly collaborates with other firms and colleagues to provide bipartisan expertise to clients.

Wayne has served as a delegate to five Republican National Conventions since 2004 as well as on the RNC Platform Committee in 2012.

Wayne currently is appointed by North Carolina State Senate President Pro Tempore Phil Berger to serve on the Cleveland Community College Board of Trustees where he has served as Vice-Chairman of the board. Wayne serves as Chairman of the Cleveland Community College Personnel Committee and serves on the Finance Committee. Wayne was one of thirteen community college trustees across the country appointed in December 2022 to serve on the National Association of Community College Trustees Public Policy and Advocacy Committee. In July 2013, North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory appointed Wayne to serve on the Cleveland County Board of Elections where he served as Chairman until November 2018. Wayne has served as Chairman of the Budget & Finance Committee at his church, served as President of North Elementary School PTO, and is active in his community. Wayne is a member of the North Carolina Professional Lobbyists Association.

Wayne was honored by resolution from the Kings Mountain Mayor and City Council on July 27, 2004, and by the Cleveland County Commissioners on November 2, 2017, for his work in the political process. Wayne was honored by North Elementary School as Volunteer of the Year 2009-2010.

Wayne has appeared on CBS Evening News, CNN, NBC News, Fox News Channel, Newsmax, Roll Call, Politico, The Hill, New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Breitbart News, Time Magazine and many other local and national publications. Wayne also appears frequently on national and North Carolina radio outlets to provide political analysis. Wayne is a frequent guest on Capital Tonight, a public affairs show on Spectrum News which airs across North Carolina & Flash Point which airs on WCNC Charlotte (NBC affiliate). 

 

Wayne also serves as CEO and founder of King Realty Partners, CEO & founder of Right Way Solutions, a political consulting firm & co-founder of Compliance Professionals, a campaign finance compliance firm. Wayne was born and raised in Kings Mountain, North Carolina and enjoys spending time with his fiancé, Nikki and his son, Noah.
